they will continue protests unless Lydian refuses from Amuls

The resident informed that on 20 May, the second day of the protest demonstration, they negotiated with Executive Director of “Lydian Armenia”, the implementer of Amulsar project, Hayk Aloyan and Jermuk Mayor Vardan Hovhannisyan.

Hayk Aloyan proposed they had a meeting with several protesters in order to start negotiations. The protesters rejected the offer made by the Executive Director of Lydian Armenia. “We told them we have only one demand – to close the mine: we have nothing to negotiate with you.” Hayk Aloyan stated they have invested too much money and they can’t stop the project. He said they annually provide 260 million AMD to Municipality. We said we had never seen these amounts, while Hayk Aloyan responded it is our internal affairs. When we asked the Mayor about these 260 million AMD, he proposed not to speak about it in the street, but we rejected it,’ Jermuk resident said and outlined they will continue their protest demonstrations unless Lydian officially states it refuses from Amulsar mine.
