Trial Mining at Beatons CreekFolks,
Just stumbled into this item by the MMG, link below
Trial mining at Beatons Creek by NOVO, 13 Dec 2016, by Denise Deveau
https://www.marketonemediagroup.com/tag/beatons-creek/ This is old stuff (but not too long ago...only ~1.5 years), but I have not seen it discussed anywhere on Novo website (under Project/Beatons Creek). May be I did not look hard enough, but they had 30,000 tonnes of mineralized conglos (that subsequently treated in Novo gravity test plant). If the grade were ~2gpt there would be quite a few oz Au collected.
Math: 30,000 x 2gpt/31 = ~2000 oz Au (~ over $2M)
What has happened to all this? It it discussed somewhere, anyone?
Just wondering, since this was real experience for trial mining. One/QH would be able to learn quite a bit about
- actual grade (this is just like bulk sampling, a large one);
- nugget recovery efficiency of the gravity plant (like one of those sluice boxes show in the Gold Rush/Discovery Channel in the link below
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mE_CNnDfac4
- cost to recover the nuggets from a gravity plant.
Presumably, Beatons Creek had a rock crusher for this trial mining, the same crusher that they recently moved to the Karratha area for crushing the rocks at CW?
