RE:Did you knowGood information silverT. I hadn't realized 80,000 sufferers. The term "living with" needs a little closer look. My wife is recovering from Stage 4 ovarian cancer. While receiving chemo in Kelowna we would run into patients with all different types of cancer undergoing various forms of chemo, all kind of comfortably side by side in a moderate sized room. You could chat with folks at various stages, undergoing different treatments, some sleeping, some awake. One of my most memorable conversations was with a gal from Salmon Arm (BC) undergoing treatment for bladder cancer. It was year five of the process. She was wigged and about to experience a new drug as all the others had stopped working. She was hopeful but there's not a lot else you can be or do. That was the only time I saw her as my wife's chemo treatment was done shortly thereafter and she has never needed to return. But, I suspect, that for this one gal - and if she's still living - she's living in a form of hell which I believe the majority of bladder cancer victims are. I think about her often and hope that her treatment has worked out for her. It is an awful disease and the term "living with" does not come near to describing their day to day lives. So, let's get moving and get rid of this terrible disease.
