RE:RE:Remember $1.90 on May 4th?Hello extreme,
I thought you cashed-out over 2 years ago and were just monitoring progress here; in case the metrics improved, and you could Invest in ts.b again.
No issues with your personal Investing style; or your Opinion re: Amazon/Tesla...
( quite a different category than little ts.b. Do they pay >5% and are they all Debt free :) :)
We certainly appear to share the same opinion regarding the prowess of mgt at ts.b!!! But - where did: ... "
He did lose over 1 billion shorting market which he now has closed in 2017 . " ... come from vis a vis this BNN episode of Jan 2018 ???? Feb 2018 episode of BNN:
..."
Prem Watsa's Fairfax Financial suffered a US$449.1-million loss on its bets against stocks in the last three months of the year. After balancing out against paper performance, Fairfax emerged with a US$93.7-million net loss on the shorts."...
(Respectfully) I am NO accountant but a $93.7M Loss certainly has a different magnitude than the implications of a $1Billion Loss!
FFH is complicated @ > $14B, so hopefully this is not a cherry picked nuanced " bookeeping " style critique error ( on my part ).
Disclosure - own a very few FFH :) :)
I can't ( now ) see a ts.b scenario where the thesis is to knock down the Value to scoop up all the bargain B shares succeeding - because FFH owns > 40%. = Very formidable Elephant to deal with.
+ Probably this whole board would Vote with FFH :)
The Opressed Remedy consideration sounds closer every quarter :)
