RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:I wrote my post...What I am trying to say is entering open orders on the market will not stop short positions.  Clients can still borrow from the firm's inventory (inventory that is being held within client accounts).  The positions within the client accounts are never removed and can be traded at any time.  If the firm runs low on inventory, they can demand the short positions to be closed at any time.  You will never know if "your" shares are being shorted because its the overall firm investory that is being taken into consideration.
