RE:RE:RE:Trump is weakening the US on many fronts ... Keep on going Benny. Good work 100% of the time. There is, for the time being, an unbridgeable gap between the Trump cult and reasonable people. Poor nor Cal Tommy, a struggling, older white guy with racist tendencies who will vote against his own self interest every time. Just wait till your insurance premiums go up another 100% Nor Cal. I was down in Palm Springs recently and stayed with some folks through VRBO, The owner of the home paid $1500 a month for health insurance for he and his wife. An ardent Republican he was (she not so much). My wife and I here pay $100/month for our amazing coverage (no deductibles, no worries about previouos conditions, no increases if you have had health problems, etc). In fact 4 years ago my wife had cancer. We paid nada for chemo, surgery, medications, hospitalization, Dr's visits etc. Total bill, zero. No chance of losing our home to pay medical bills. No crowd funding required to pay for an operation.
I passed through Northern California both coming and going. Stayed in Mt. Shasta and Stockton on the way down, Fresno and Mt Shasta on the way back. And what did I see that I wouldn't see in our country - absurd levels of poverty and ram shackle living unlike anything I've seen on this side of the border. Oh the wonders of tax cuts and unfettered capitalism. Yes, Republicans, give more money to the rich whenever possible because the poor love their hovels and shopping carts.
Last word. Many Republicans are of that persuasion because they are anti abortion and, in many cases, because of their Christian beliefs. Well, I too am pro life - I detest abortion but I don't believe the state has the power to overrule personal choice. The issue is moral breakdown and the answer is not legislation. So, yes, I'm pro-life, but all life, most especially the already living, the poor, the disenfranchised, the sick, the lame. As a Christian I respect them all, not just the unborn. Your society just does not care enough for a whole class of folks which is, by the way, increasing in number daily. Nuff said.
