BTE buys Raging River. EGC taken out. Why does it matter?

BTE buys Raging River. EGC taken out. Why does it matter?
The real trigger I've been waiting on is merger/acquisition fever in the NA O&G sector.  Although we've had a strong rally in Crude these past many months I would say there has been a paucity of M&A.  To me, monetizing small fry with good assets like Blackbird depends primarily on acquisition.

Without the prospect of acquisition companies like BBI don't attract investor attention.  Or at least much investor attention.

Well, looks like M&A activity might be picking up.  More true for US companies for sure, but once the ball gets rolling there are plenty of Canadian suitors that might take a look at Montney acquisitions.

The recent dearth of updates from BBI had me thinking they might be entertaining offers.  Now we're getting an uptick in M&A activity...could be interesting times ahead.
