Is Aimia/Aeroplan for Real...OR...Just a Scam?

Is Aimia/Aeroplan for Real...OR...Just a Scam?
Read this thread below and decide for yourselves...

RE:RE:Aeroplan promises transformed rewards program 2020, fly?

Maybe it is your kind of thinking that got Aeroplan to where it is now...in a hole that it is trying to extricate itself from.

Expiring store gift cards were a scam that governments in Canada had to address recently.

Expiring loyalty points is another scam.

Is Aimia/Aeroplan is real company with a real value proposition?

Or, is Aimia/Aeroplan just another scam?

WTF the article doens't talk about expiry of points  and that quote is not in the context of point expiry.

Their expiry is actually very good. All you need to keep ALL your points is to be a active member. As a member this is pretty normal. As a share holder i love this because it represents a lot of free cash flow. we get ther revenue without the cost associated to a redemption. Why should we keep you as a active member if you dont earn or spend a point in 12 months?

Apparently, Aeroplan still has a policy of expiring/cancelling points of members when there is inactivity in their accounts.

If Aeroplan wants to "fly" beyond 2020, this policy must end.

Especially if it launches a cryptocurrency version of its program

Read this CBC News article:

Aeroplan promises a transformed rewards program in 2020, but will it fly?

"They need to do something that says to me I'm not going to lose everything," said Aeroplan member Steve Atkinson in Nanaimo, B.C., who's sitting on almost 800,000 points — enough for four people to fly round-trip to Australia.
