In fact, corn is so genetically modified that the original crop cannot be found. Cannabis is much more than that. And Hemp is even bigger than that. The micro grow ops are just like microbreweries. But they NEED health Canada approval. So no, not everyone will be a microbrewery and even if, the production capacity is dwarfed compared to LPs capacity. The thing that most dont realize or quickly forget. Canopy has a foot in a few countries. The world is watching Canada like we were watching Uruguay or Colorado when they first legalized. Give it a few years, Canopy and a few others will be the go to companies to call when they are ready to legalize. So yes, people sold the news (typical potstocks). Because no other news will be coming out for the next little while (October). But just remember the line ups in Montreal when the Emery's opened up 3 shops for less than a week. It was February and the weather was -20C outside.... but line ups were real. Real long. (Almost feels like this was a publicity stunt just to see how real this demand really is).
