Getinge enters into an agreement with authority in Brazil
Getinge has reached an agreement with the Brazilian Federal Public Prosecutor's Office (Ministrio Pblico Federal) about a so-called Leniency Agreement mainly related to the manipulation of tender procedures in Brazil.
The cases are mainly attributable to the years 2004-2015, and primarily concern Getinge’s Brazilian subsidiaries Maquet Cardiopulmonary do Brasil Indstria e Comrcio Ltda and Maquet do Brasil Equipamentos Mdicos Ltda.
The agreement includes that Getinge will pay a company fine corresponding to approximately MSEK 276 (MBRL 121,8). The amount is included in the previous provision* made by Getinge for costs related to the Brazilian investigations and will not affect the operating profit further. The fine will be paid during the second half of 2018.
Negotiations will continue with other relevant Brazilian authorities and are expected to be completed in 2018. It cannot be ruled out that any further agreements with authorities may have material impact on Getinge’s earnings and financial position, in addition to provisions made.
*The provision was made in March 2018.
