You are right. It is a big IF. In anycase, I read or heard somewhere that it was going to be 18 months, not 12 months.

As explained earlier, this deal is not going to be as easy as the one between Airbus and Bombardier. hence, if it does happens it might take much longer than 18 months.

The question we should ask is: What's in it for both Embraer and Brazil?

Neither Brazil nor Embraer have their back against the wall and do not necessarily need that deal to financially survive.
