Pure speculation

Pure speculationIn the pembina field there are three main players.Bne,arc, and obe formally Pwt.Obe once one the largest oil and gas companys in canada sold off most of their assets to pay down debt to keep what they decribed as the crown jewell of the company their pembina assets.Arc has always had a legacy position in pembina and a couple of years back incresed their working interests in some of their land.looking at their presetations they have allways drilled enough to keep production flat using free cash flow to fund their new projects. These projects are huge and are liquids rich montney for the most part..Bne has a 15% interest in the berrymore field which is notheast of carnwood. Some time back I asked the company why we did not sell arc our 15% to pay down debt. They replied the berrymore field had a lot of opportunity and they didnt think arc would pay us what we think it is worth. That in my mind is oil speak for we really like berrymore and are not sellers. So here is the specualtion. In 2016 middle of the downturn arc drilled 8 pembina wells.in 2017 with better prices they drilled I think 15 wells which would be roughly a capex of35 million. In 2018 they have no wells planned. In every case I know when companies stop spending money on a property it becomes non core.Bne on every measure is the logical buyer.Present production about 11000 boe. for arc property. In the next 9 to 12 months  or earlier oil price dependant we and the stock price will be in a position to consider the deal.Pure specuation but a nice thought
