What's more -- I'm not mad at that. SOJ needs to raise money from investors who will back company for the next decade. Pretty short list and I don't know any IR guys who can really help with that. You need a management team to visit these investors and make an impression directly. I suspect that's what they've been up to.
Delays surely frustrating for them as it is for us, but I've noticed a lot of good groups having trouble raising capital recently. Maybe they're not as good as I thought?
Funny story -- listening to Bob Quartermain speech at Sprott Symposium 2017 on audio recording today and he talked about Rick Rule leading a financing for +$2M back in 1993 when company (Silver Standard) had $5M market cap. As of time of speech, that company had grown to $3B valuation with spinoffs (Pretium) and dividends (?). Find a copy of recording if you want all the details, but broad strokes of story pretty compelling and seemed oddly similar to SOJ today. Except only $2M valuation.
Hope the dream team is playing well together. Will keep my eyes peeled for Tyler Ruks at Sprott Symposium this year and report back as best I can.
