mayor jackson does bring up the shortage of veg to be grown, VFF ceo response to the Mayor Mrs Jackson is two fold, first VFF can't compete with Mexico labor cost $8 hr versus BC $20, second VFF exports 60% of all the veg they grow to the US. Also VFF just signed a 7yr deal with there exsisting Mexican partnership of 20 yrs, adding a additioal 125 acres. Not sure if the permits are in place most likely not considering they just revieved permit for additional 225,000on june 7, 2018.
