RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:Aimia/Aeroplan Announces Deal with BlockBuster VideoIn some respects, Air Miles is actually better than Aeroplan.
For example, you can earn Air Miles at retailers where one likely shops often, thus not risking becoming an "inactive" member and losing all your points.
These are some of the Air Miles partners:
- IGA - groceries
- Safeway - groceries
- Shell - fuel
- Jean Coutu - pharmacy
- LCBO - liquor stores in Ontario
- Rona / Lowes - hardware
- Staples - office supplies
Whereas, with Aeroplan, how often do you shop with:
- Budget Rent A Car ?
- Home Hardware?
- Etc. ?
So, this is why many Aeroplan members are losing all their points through inactivity.
Aeroplan needs to sign up lots of retail partners quickly...to remain relevant and competitive with Air Miles.
Another approach for Aeroplan is to launch a cryptocurrency.
Cryptocurrencies are borderless and would enable Aeroplan to expand globally.

Even Enron and Bernie Made-Off-With-UR-Points had good financials...until their scams were busted.
