RE:OLD FRIENDS

RE:OLD FRIENDS

I'll give you that.  FLT has a winning team.  They're doing an exceptional job attracting high-priced figureheads that pump the stock price up while doing nothing to fundamentally create value in a company.  The biggest mistake Tony DeBenedetto made when he started DDC, is not hiring any experienced UAV engineers.  He hired a bunch of amateurs, and the results show that.

What have they done in 5 years?  They bought some multirotors from an online store, put them together using autopilot systems that somebody else made.  Anybody could build the same thing in their basement. And they bought somebody elses software to run the system on the ground.  They can call it their Proprietary "Flyte" system all they want. Fact is they've got nothing they developed themselves.  It's all "bought not built". It's proprietary all right, but not theirs! Oh, right, they've got that ugly trailer they made.  Probably bought it from some small town trailer manufacturer, probably in Keswick LOL. Expanded metal railings on welded square tube frame. That's high tech boy!

They've got a couple of guys running around Moosonee doing test flights.  Middle of nowhere.  And they've done a couple of test flights at an airport in the US that was specifically set up to do UAV test flights.  And what did they accomplish?  Well, they managed to not crash!  Way to go guys, quite an accomplishment!

They're a one trick show, drone delivery services in Canada. How many packages have they actually delivered?  Certainly none commercially.  Why?  Because it's not legal!  And there's no certainty it ever will be.  Could be another 5-10 years at best.

It's like you guys are betting on a commercial MJ grow-op company in 2014 when the conservatives in power.  Talk about a long-view.  I'll give you guys that.  Hell of a risk though.

And what's going to happen if and when drone delivery is legalized?  They'll immediately be run over and crushed by Amazon, DHL, UPS and FedEx. You think this tiny Canadian company (how many employees do they have?) are going to stand up to the big guys?  Come on.  They have nothing.  They have 2 patent APPLICATIONS and NONE GRANTED.  Amazon has over 200 patent applications just related to drone delivery, with over 162 granted!

Matternet, Zipline and DHL are all doing actual limited commercial drone delivery deployments TODAY.

Some people like to say "Oh, but DDC will own the Canadian market because they're first mover."  Who cares?!  The Canadian market?  Are you serious?  They're doing nothing internationally.  And when the laws change to allow delivery in Canada, the experienced, teched-up international delivery companies will move right in.

You guys who think that DDC has some advantage over them, because they are already screwing around in Canada, clearly have no idea how drone regulations work. There's nothing stopping an international company from coming in and getting permits to fly within a few months.  Yeah yeah, they're doing BVLOS test flights.  You know you guys are actually paying DDC to do the work to open up BVLOS to everybody else, right?  Fact is, BVLOS is not hard.  Your nephew Scotty with a drone he bought at Best Buy is already flying BVLOS. Illegally.  The technology is there.  It has been for 4 years already.  What's not there, are the regulations.  The BVLOS trials are more about showing Transport Canada that these flights can be done safely, than anything. Once that is done, it opens up to everybody.

Hey, let me ask you this?  Which company in Canada, was the very very first to fly an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle in Canada?  The first company to get Transport Canada to allow them to do this ground-breaking work?  Who the heck knows?!  Have you ever heard of them?  I don't even know!  Did they have "first mover advantage" and "own the skies?"  Are they a $200M company?  No!

It's about the technology stupid, not the rules and regulations.  We live in a democracy, not a monarchy.  Once the rules change, all companies will be legally able to do this.

Meanwhile, the guys at Global UAV are just getting stuff done.  They have crews operational in all areas of Canada, and internationally, racking up 1000's and 1000's of miles.  Gaining experience, and making money!  Today!

And Novaerial Robotics is one of the leading UAV technology development companies in North America.  Helicopters are far more difficult to build than multirotors.  And much more capable.  You want to talk drone delivery?  Look at the specs on their helicopter.  It has 4 times the range of DDC's thing!  Hell, this thing, invented in his basement, has better performance than any of Amazon's delivery drones.  You just watch, when drone delivery actually becomes a thing, you might find the big guys buying Novaerial's technology.

When the rules finally change to allow delivery in Canada, any company could join forces with Global to jump into that market.  They have experienced crews and engineers, and a far superior system.

At the end of the day, who wins and loses, is going to be determined by technology, and operational capability.  Drone Delivery Canada has nothing.  They have no technology, and they have no operational experience. They won't even be a speed bump in the road to the big guys when rules change.
