Very good timing on your buy and excellent reasons for buying (same as mine :-)
I bought over a year ago so am still underwater on price but haven't sweated a drop over it. It's a long term hold and I've always felt very confident. I'm a huge fan of Brookfield and also hold BEP.UN and BIP.UN. As an aside, BIP.UN really looks like a good buy right now.
I think the main reason for the recent run-up is that the GGP shareholders have to have their votes in on the take-over by the end of the day on July 25th. I assumed the run-up was because the vote is looking favourable for the acceptance of the deal. We'll know soon.
