RE:RE:Clean Scopes?

RE:RE:Clean Scopes?Thanks Elan.
I have had some 'issues' and have been advised to get a colonoscopy. However I have been in conversation (email) with my local hospital here in Ontario since March regarding how they not only clean but sterilize their scopes.
Just today my contact, just back from holiday, said she would forward my further questions to the proper people.
Prior to that in March they had assured me that they doubled cleaned their Olympus scopes (2 X HLD?) and then use the Steris system to 'clean' them.
They pointed out that Steris had 'claim to sterilization using that equipment but not widely recognized'
I my last email I suggested that so far as I knew Steris system cannot and in fact has never been validated by the FDA as able to do sterilize long comples scopes (therefore not widely accepted) and so they, like any other institution doing those procedures, are risking patients lives using their present methods.
I then suggested they look at the TSO3 site and the VP4 which I pointed out has for the last 2/3 years both in Europe and Canada been cleared to actually sterilize these scopes and now the FDA has granted them clearence that indeed they able to actually sterilize long complex scopes
