I respect the opinions voiced here about the indication to refuse a deal with AC but, for those that think that a deal should at least tried to be reached, I would say that both parties will need to have a lot of empathy in order to reach a compromise.


Empathy?

What a joke.  AC attempted to send Aimia into a death spiral and now Aimia is expected to empathize with AC's valuation model.

Aimia - no debt, free cash flow of $0.50 - $1.00 per share, slap a 10 multiple on that
AC - only loyalty members are AC frequent flyers, total points = zero
AC facing a passenger drop-off of 1 million plus flights per year and the loss of hundreds of millions in revenue.

kuppy has it right - AC is Screwed unless they pay up to purchase Aimia now.
