RE:RE:If This Trade War Gets Legs
My view is that the trade war with China will likely be a tempest in a teapot. You are just changing the composition of where you get your imports from and where you export to. Meanwhile world population is still increasing and demand has not subsided - i.e. US's tax cut and campaigned infrastructure plans; China's Belt and Road. China is literally pouring money in domestic and African infrastructure.

The following article gives some perspective:

https://www.theglobeandmail.com/opinion/article-the-us-is-at-risk-of-losing-a-trade-war-with-china/>

Trump's trade war is going to end up with a sure-win against Canada and Mexico, perhaps the EU but not so much against China - another insightful article:

https://business-financialpost-com.cdn.ampproject.org/v/s/business.financialpost.com/personal-finance/what-donald-trumps-own-words-tell-us-about-how-his-trade-wars-will-play-out/amp?amp_js_v=a2&amp_gsa=1#amp_tf=From%20%251%24s&ampshare=https%3A%2F%2Fbusiness.financialpost.com%2Fpersonal-finance%2Fwhat-donald-trumps-own-words-tell-us-about-how-his-trade-wars-will-play-out

So, keep your eye on the constants and the big picture is what I am saying.
