Aeroplan 2.0 - The Disruption of Loyalty Programs

Aeroplan 2.0 - The Disruption of Loyalty Programs
  • Amazon re-invented bookstores, then retailing, and disrupted Sears etc.
  • Apple re-invented the smartphone and disrupted Blackberry.
  • Tesla is re-inventing the automobile with the electric car and is disrupting the autombile and oil industry.
  • Netflix re-invented the DVD rental model and disrupted Blockbuster.
  • Uber/Lyft are re-inventing mobility transportation and are disrupting the taxi industry.
  • AirBnB is re-inventing the bed and breakfast industry and has disrupted the travel accommodations industry.
  • Etc.

For Aimia to prosper, a sentence needs to be added on how Aeroplan 2.0 will re-invent loyalty programs and disrupt the loyalty management industry.

If Aimia/Aeroplan merely scambles to replace Air Canada with substitute partners, it will merely be a "me too" loyalty program with some appeal in a crowded and competitive loyalty program industry.

Aeroplan 2.0 needs to have a much bigger vision than any other loyalty program in existence today.

And…that is the plan for the future with Aeroplan 2.0
