My E-sports opinion... IMHO Hello, I have been posting here mentioning that this entire platform is about the move into e-sports. I have had a few investors message me requesting further details into my opinion so I'm am going to provide a detailed explanation of what I believe we are getting ourselves into here.
Full disclosure, I'm a mid 20s Industrial Mechanic, I have only been investing since Trudeaus election promise of Legalizing recreational Marijuana.
My age group and generation grew up at the exact same rate video game development rose. We went from multi-controller consoles which required people physically being in the same location to play together on one screen divided into however may players were participating. With the Release of the Play station network and Xbox Live back in the day it became possible for players to play and communicate with each other from separate locations. This did have flaws. Usually, only 10 players on a server as the infrastructure was not there to support more connections. Dropped connections and freezes and disconnects were extremely common, it was rare to have a game that ran fine without chop. in 2018 we now have 100 players logging into a single server and majority of players are Frame rate refresh rates are staying steady because modern internet and infrastructure made it possible. Jump to PC World of Warcraft, for example, you can have 2000 players in a server and up to 3-400 players in a single location.
The connections are now reliable, fast, consistent and almost problem free.
Twitch is a streaming service which provides gamers the unique ability to provide live webcasts of themselves and present to the viewer a screen of the game they are playing. This allows them to interact with their fans, allow them to get to know them better and provide more personal entertainment.
in 2005 a Major League Gaming tournament offered $18,000 for the winners of the 4v4 tournament for Halo 2 CHAMPIONSHIPS. IN 2016 the Halo World Championship prize money was a staggering $2,500,000.
Tyler Blevins, known as Ninja, started his career playing Halo 2 on Xbox over a dozen years ago. Today thanks to Fortnite and his years and years of competitive gaming Tyler averages $500,000 a month from his Amazon Prime subscribers and his 5 Million youtube subscribers while streaming on Twitch. Amazon, which is the worlds greatest company was way ahead of the curve just like they were the internet and agreed to purchase Twitch in 2014 for US 970 Million. in the past week, Twitch's viewers have been no less than 600,000 and a maximum of 1,600,000 on a daily basis. Tournaments are completely different numbers as the viewer numbers are multiplied.
If you look at the Asian video game markets they are years ahead of us, just like the rest of their technology. They are using augmented reality, using Virtual Helmets to manipulate real-life environments. For example, if you were at the park, and lets say you had a fighting style game. in the park, once the game is turned on through your helmet they would look like they are physically in front of you and part of your reality which allows you to have an actual physical fight in a real open world space versus picking up a controller and pressing buttons from home. Treadmill like platforms are also being developed so users can run on the spot.. this will transform video games from being a controller sport, to complete game involving athleticism, dexterity and Intelligence. Like superstars in the NFL or NBA you will have insane athletes that will be unstoppable at certain games. Craziest part about these games are they will be augmented reality. Imagine watching Star Wars... picture a tie fighter sky fight with some x - wings... now we are in China at a Star Wars Tournament in Shanghai. I truly believe, they will be capable of having the same type of air fights in an augmented reality. Now imagine this as viewer... the tournament is in Shangai so they use the city as the playing field and you are now watching a live fire fight going on in the streets on Shanghai. This will be for everything, army games, they could reenact World War 2 famous battlefields and physically feel like they are mentally and physically there. Speed, aim, IQ and ability to succeed will be completely reliant on the player. There will be no balanced engine for all players to take advantage of. People will be physically training seriously like a bodybuilder to perform better in these games. You will have e-sport stars bigger then Lebron James..
Henri seems like he has placed a focus on the Asian markets and that's where i believe he will succeed. He has already made connections with the two biggest esports populations on the planet. Securing investor relations in India as well as China. Esports in China are already a massive deal. Teams are getting a massive following of fans and it is turning into a major functioning sporting event with viewers from around the world.
Lets discuss Fortnite Battle Royale, arguably the biggest game right now surpassed 300 Mill in revenue in a single month... the game is free.. and provides cheap in-app purchases with a rewarding model that keeps users coming back. Weekly challenges and constant in-app purchases for people to spend their money on. It is on route to make 2 billion this year...
In Toronto there are handfuls of locations opening up that offer a $100 buy-in for a fortnite tournament and the winner at the end of the night brings home $20,000.
Everyone is here talking about user acquisition and bringing people back. Esports viewers attract themselves, once these streamers send out a tweet they are on twitch streaming their following just show up. People love to watch the best of the best. Coca-Cola is already spending big money advertising in esport events. The greatest thing about the Asian markets Henri is targetting is the population is so massive that even if you reach a few percents you can still have success.
Once there is a platform available to readily bet on esports there is zero doubt in my mind the download number will blow up exponentially. Imagine seeing 6 players left in a game, and being able to bet on who the winner is, imagine being a viewer, you now become panicky, should I bet or not? the game is live.. you only have 30 seconds to place a bet before it is closed. this is will provide excitement and a lot of coins exchanging hands.
Furthermore, a lot of these upcoming esports leagues do not have the capital or infrastructure to develop secure stores for payment of fan merchandise and things alike. FDM will be a platform for teams, leagues and individuals to sell and promote in the store and with the IBM ledger being so tight it will be entirely secure. This will streamline the process.
Esports is not going away any time soon and just keep getting better and better and involve more and more people. I am in no way shape or form worried about these half pennies here or there. I am here for the big money and that will not happen until we get the V2 rolled out and some spicy news related to that industry. Henri has foreshadowed it time and time again. He managed to put angry birds in the hands of so many people in a time where touchscreens were relatively new. Everyone has access to the internet almost everywhere. The users will come on their own.
This is all my opinion and feel free to inbox me if anyone has any further questions or requesting a more detailed explanation. I feel we are uniquely leveraged to push a platform into a space that currently has no options to do anything other than simply view the gaming that is happening.
Thank you for taking the time to read.. Cheers, Peanut
