Aeroplan User Criticisms: Good Analysis -Poor Recommendation

Aeroplan User Criticisms: Good Analysis -Poor Recommendation
Good comments below about 3 critical customer pain points with Aeroplan 1.0

Aeroplan 2.0 must address these critical issues to make Aeroplan 2.0 successful.

Poor recommendation about Point 3:

"Point 3 is just sound business...  a loyalty program should discontinue giving you advantages if you are not loyal to it."

There are better alternatives to just "de-activating" a valuable Aeroplan member.

For example, an annual Aeroplan "Prime" membership fee has been suggested.

This would protect the Aeroplan member's points and prevent de-activation of the member's account.

Also, it would generate significant additional, ongoing, annual membership revenues for Aimia/Aeroplan.

1. yes I am looking at this from a user perspective, not from an investment perspective;

Then why are you posting here? Point being you are not looking at it from a invesment point of view and you are complaining about the company on a investing forum... it's normal to be called out on it.

But beyond that, all your critiisim is actually caused by AC. This means that from a investment perspective you are aligning with the longs here and agreeing that the future of AIM without AC is brigther for the clients as AIM has the ability of taking these pain point away in the new business plan.

My DD allowed me to come up with 3 main complaint about the program.

1. Lack of avialability
2. Price gauging in forms of surcharges, and
3. Inactive account being expired

Point 1 and 2 are directly caused by AC and the popularity of the program.

Point 3 is just sound business...  a loyalty program should discontinue giving you advantages if you are not loyal to it.

The involved in this investment is wether AIM is able to transform AP into that better program and keep margins that would keep me invested in it. I believe that at this time the andwer is YES. The AC unsolicitated offer is just noise until they actually offer enough. It's also somwhat of a safety net for me as a investor. Eventually this net will become smaller and smaller as time goes by as AC's interest will fade but I also re-assess the progress of the change.

To me this stock show the best reward to risk ratio on the TSX at this moment
