Aphria Inc. APHA

Aphria, which is headquartered in Ontario, produces and sells medicinal and recreational cannabis. The company operates through retail and wholesale channels in Canada and internationally. Aphria is a main distributor of medical cannabis to Germany and has operations in over 10 countries outside of Canada. However, it does not have exposure to the U.S. CBD or THC markets due to the constraints of federal prohibition. It has some U.S. exposure through the acquisition of SweetWater, a craft brewer

Buddy that opens his dispensary in AB in 2 months saidthat the black market  is selling at grams at 2-4$( if you buy in the pounds scale of course) . He is tempted to buy and I wouldn't doubt others would think of doing the same. Yes, it is illegal but there isn't any analysis that can be done to prove otherwise. The illegal market is undercutting the cost they are selling their product since illegal operations don't have to pay insurance, group health plants, regulations, etc.. Tell me please how Tweed's average buds which will be more expensive can have a chance to compete with illegal products. If a company brings premium products at cost comparable to street ( due too lower cost ( cultivation automation systems)), isn't that the only way to compete in this industry. To be honest; it makes sense that average or subpar products like tweed products will be used in beverages by using either  CO2 supercritical extraction or solvent extraction. You can't tell the difference in quality of the raw material once you isolate thc.
