Description: As a member of the team at the 7P Facility, the Production Foreman will report directly to the Acting Plant Manager and will be located at our sand processing facility in Seven Persons Alberta. The primary responsibility of the hands on Production Foreman is to help maintain the productive and safe operation of the Company’s production facilities including: the implementation of business objectives, OH&S strategies, QA/QC plans and manages daily work functions. The Production Foreman is responsible for selecting coaching, and developing employees. Implements and supports company programs and policies. Specifically, this position directs and coordinates sand production/operation activities for an assigned shift.
Duties & Responsibilities: • Plan, coordinate and direct production/operation activities including: production, QA/QC, development, construction, setup/support activities, equipment and manpower utilization to ensure a safe, productive, high quality, low cost and efficient operation. • Ensure equipment is serviced, and shift documentation is complete and in compliance with regulations prior to start of production on the next shift. • Coordinate the efficient ordering, haulage and distribution of parts, materials and supplies needed to maintain and operate the facility. • Inspect work areas daily to monitor performance, identify unsafe conditions and implement necessary corrections. Conduct safety meetings for crews. • Communicate, coordinate and plan daily work activity with the Plant Manager and other shift foremen. • Coordinate production and maintenance activities to ensure safety and efficiency are achieved. • Lead by example and promote safety as a value and ensure compliance to OH&S standards by others within the company. • Ensure shift personnel are trained in operation of equipment or tasks before performing work. • Establish accountability and develop the skills of production employees through a combination of goal setting, delegation, training, counseling and performance evaluations or reviews. • Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications: • Experience with heavy equipment operation preferred and experience managing in the aggregate processing industry a benefit. • High school diploma. • Strong mechanical aptitude, and experienced with maintenance and operations activities related to industry equipment, including screens, conveyors, dryers, bucket elevators, pumps, etc.. • Strong management, verbal and written communication skills. • Must be a strong proponent of a safe work environment. • Ability to provide and maintain proper license, medical card and acceptable driving record. • Ability to work some overtime. • Intermediate computer skills.
