Javier Ordua, Exploration Manager, Aton Resources, Hamama Camp, Egypt: “Peter, I’m delighted to be able to let you know that we have finally started drilling at Rodruin, after what seems like an age waiting to get going, and we are all very excited about this here onsite. I say “finally” started drilling, and it does feel like that, but the reality is that we have moved this project ahead at a real rate of knots in terms of its discovery, extensive sampling on foot – of course we had to walk in and out for the first 6 months through some pretty tough and unforgiving terrain, the construction of the 4.5km access road from Eradiya, the construction of roads and drill pads onsite, geological mapping and the ongoing channel sampling programmes. We will take a pause on the sampling now that we have started drilling, although I am hoping for more good results to come through in the next few weeks from ALS. The road and pad construction around the site will continue, and the reality is that we have only accessed a small part of the surface mineralisation that we have identified to date so far. Anyway the big day has finally arrived, and we intend to crack on with sampling the drillholes as quick as we can, and we are hoping to have the assay results back from the first holes by the end of September. We’ll look forward to updating you further as the programme progresses.”
