I thought that TH went down recently because shareholder to taking profits and short sellers were only a small part of the recent sell-off. Is this the case?
PS - So happy about the jump the stock this week! I've been a holder of TH since 2008!
There are always going to be times when a stock is going to appear to have got ahead of its self, and presumably clever shorters are going to spot those moments and either ferment a selloff or just take advantage of one (or a little bit of both). Presumably the clever ones are now out or exiting with their profit in hand. If they are clever enough then you'd wonder why they dont become longs and maybe ride it back up a little.
Its hard to fight the idea that somebody knows something you dont know but it seems often these short term moves tell you very little about the overall health of the business, maybe the health of the market for the stock or market sentiment but little about what the bottom line might be next Q or in 2020.
I'm prepared to (im)patiently wait until the end of 2018 to get a firmer sense of how this will pan out, in the mean time most signals remain firmly positive.
