Globe and Mail newspaper

Globe and Mail newspaperThe Globe and Mail today confirmed in their newspaper the news that Vertical Scope is laying off 30 of their staff as disclosed on Stockhouse yesterday . No mention of this in The Toronto Star today ! I have an idea . How about disposing of the Vertical Scope investment , which is showing substantial negative organic growth and buying the Globe in Mail . If and when Post Media goes out of business , That would leave one Toronto newspaper available . I am a current subscriber , but if only one paper was available , I would be willing to pay more . Judging by the physical size of the Globe , It may be available at a very reasonable cost . It is far and away the best newspaper for Canadian Business news . My understanding is that both The Star and The Globe and Mail are printed in the same Transcontinental Printing owned facility currently in Brampton . As I said before , expect more write offs on the Vertical Scope investment on the next quarterly report . Hard to believe that just a short few years ago , Torstar received well over 400 million dollars ( over 5 dollars a share ) for Harlequin . Where is it now ?
