Your points are all valid and entirely appropriate for a company that is actually interested in their shareholders.

For a company that is more interested (certainly based upon past performance and behaviour) in paying a bloated employee work force and rewarding management and BoD for sub-par performance the effect of cutting the dividend simply leaves more for themselves and that, by all appearances seems to be their priority.  When (and if) that changes then yes all your points are completely valid.  Until then I no longer have any expectations that the shareholders of this company are in any way a priority, and that includes the dividend.

Having said all that, I would dearly love to be proven wrong.
