RE:RE:BS all aroundThe way the scam (IMO) works is simple, and it's the same way venture capital in high-tech makes its money. Venture capital buys into a start-up, creating a sense of legitimacy to the start-up's technology. Next, gullible retail investors figure that, if the start-up's technology is actually going to do what it claims, then they've got to buy a piece of the action before the technology is proven and the share price skyrockets. The scam doesn't work every time. But because the vencaps get in so cheaply (e.g., 80 cents/share), the odds are in their favor, if they're good at creating the atmosphere of a "gotta get it quick before it gets bid up" story.
