Tilray has most of its shares locked up. Theres a ridiculously low float available to the public (like 8 million shares?). This has created a situation where there is very limited shares available to short. I've been trying to get an allocation in margin through Questrade. The borrow fee on it is INSANE +%400) Would've cost me about $1,800 a day to get 500 shares of Tilray on loan today...that's IF they could find shares...which they could not. Finally at around 2pm Questrade called me to tell me their Risk Assesment division has declared they will not let anyone short Tilray ?! True story.
