Torstar acquires Ipolitics

Torstar acquires IpoliticsHi guys,

Fyi yesterday Torstar bought Ipolitics for an undisclosed sum. I suppose only a small or symbolic purchase price because Ipolitics is not profitable (based on a Globe and Mail article). From a strategic perspective this deal makes sense and gives Ipolitics possibly more scale. Ipolitics would be quality content for the Torstar network and there could be cost synergies with respect to Torstar's QPBriefing service. Hopefully Torstar doesn't apply its Atkinson principles to Ipolitics which should remain independent in its views in order to be successful. Could be a small but favourable deal as long as it is executed properly which isn't a sure thing with this management.

All in all it is not a big deal for us shareholders who seem to be forgotten by management. Otherwise the would at least buy their own stock at a giant discount!

Our day will come...

Best regards,

Don
