RE:Broken Stock

RE:Broken StockBack of the napkin...
Assets 66 MM (of which 41 MM is cash)
Liabilities 12 MM
Goodwill 6 MM
Net 66 - 12 - 6 = 48 MM
Shares outstanding 111 MM
48 / 111 = book value per share 0.43
Globe & Mail gives its price to book as 4.0, which is not far off my guesstimate.
However, I think for a technical company like PHO, with embedded knowledge and intellectual property, price to book might not be the best measure. Microsoft, for example has a book value of about $11 and price to book of over 10 at its current SP. On the other hand, Intel's P/B ratio currently is around 3.
I think this is a good company getting hit by market sentiment related to the sector. It's no consolation to brahmabullz, but current SP is only back to where it was last spring, and there is support at $1.78 - $1.82.
