Toachi needs more than an Ecuadorian halo

Toachi needs more than an Ecuadorian haloAlain Bureau spent twenty minutes in Colorado last Friday situating Toachi beneath the halo being created by the growing number of mining companies transforming Ecuador into a go-to jurisdiction.

It's not a bad strategy as far as it goes.  Ecuador as one big area play is a story worth telling.  But in doing so Bureau invited a comparison of Toachi's non-activity--for that's what this year amounts to--with the miners making Ecuador happen.  They are going about their business, drilling and releasing results, while Bureau spins his wheels.

Bureau actually said Toachi has drilled 28,000 meters.  I must have missed the dozens of press releases announcing those results!

I think Bureau meant historic drilling activity--Toachi has had more than one previous owner going back decades--in combination with what Toachi did in 2017 and, possibly, 2018.

It was a deeply unsatisfying performance.  If you want to see for yourself compare Bureau's Cambridge presentation of last May with last week in Colorado.  Check out Jon Goodman's presentation last January for good measure.  They are a reminder of the confident professionalism exhibited by both men that drew us to Toachi in the first place.

Fortunately last week won't matter if Toachi can produce a PEA by yearend documenting drilling activity.  Assays are everything!

Then the Ecuadorian halo will matter.
