What were the odds on first day it was a one off?

What were the odds on first day it was a one off? That is easy, they tested 10 meters out pf 8,000 meter target, the odds that was the richest ore in 8,000 meters is 1/800th.

The odds just being unbiased that there is a richer 10 meter section is 799 out of 800.

But what about a one off, no gold at all in rest of system, say only 25 meter had rich ore?  Maybe 1/10,000th.

Being it was the richest gold strike ever does reduce the odds some, so maybe a one off in terms the rest of it no where as good was 2%

Yet that 2% or 1/800th or 1/10,000th tiny risk held back people from making likely the best risk/reward investment of the year.

There is a lesson to be learned here.  Have seen this before in many things that many people can only handle a certain degree of good or bad news, a "It can not be that good (or bad) when the facts are clear it is.

Cheers
