Auction of Beta Hunt GoldWas wondering what was happening re the auction of the gold specimens and found this article from 20th September:
https://thewest.com.au/news/kalgoorlie-miner/cultural-query-on-beta-hunt-gold-stones-tour-ng-b88964753z Several interesting things in it. Firstly that Selby isn't planning to auction them until towards the end of the calendar year and implications that the auction could be affected by governement restrictions on export of the stones. The article also mentions additional stones found on 16th September, including a 43kg speciment, but given the date of the article I guess that was included in the 24,000oz reported in the NR on the same day as the article.
An obvious implication fo this is that RNC won't actually have the cash in the bank for a few months yet but, I suppose, the company could borrow against the value of the stones, if necessary, to fund ongoing exploration & development (OTOH there might be enough cash from gold sales of material not in the form of speciment rocks).
Worth being aware that, as a result of this, cash levels shown in the Q3 accounts (when published) might not be as high as we were expecting. Shorters might leap on that. Should sort itself out in Q4 once the auction has taken place.
Cheers,
Mark
