mentioned over on hc kai yesterday and here is a post everyone should read, especially those who know there is NO GOLD.

From HC KAI thread last night, an oldtime prospector (mamba) shares his views on Egina. "Was keen to prospect at Egina and the Pilbara centre and made a trip there back in 1980. Only had time to switch on my Garrett and make a few swings when a fellow drove up after seeing my tracks in the windrow and told me I had better clear out otherwise I was in trouble. The guy was from the Friendly Creek Mine inside Yandeyarra and they were very keenly policing the area, for themselves I bet. Two or three weeks later Alec Holm went in with the fore knowledge from a Mines Dept mate who told him that the Mining Common inside Yandeyarra predated the granting of the Yande reserve and despite many difficulties with Friendly Creek Mine, and the Yandeyarra Community perservered and got access to some very rich pickings with his whole family swinging in there for many years. Alec Holm later wrote the book "Pilbara Gold 100 Years On" which is a most interesting read on what I missed out on, printed by Hesperian Press. One chapter of his book relates to the Potato Patch near Top Camp with spud size slugs all over the place. I have always been intrigued of Egina with many thousand ounces of "Melon Seed" gold recovered by hundreds of old timers dryblowing the large patches there both east and west with the source of the rich gold never discovered. Obviously the Egina gold eroded out of the comglomerates just as at Purdy's, Comet Well, Loudens, and Croydon Top Camp, and elsewhere in a now seemingly Pilbara Wide Comglomerate event. Didn't get any of the Pilbara Top Camp or Egina gold myself but Novo, and Packman have done the deal and gotten into there and just maybe sniffing out the possible epi centre for Pilbara Comglomerate Gold. Pity most Aussie prospectors have been denied access all these years and Canadians splashing a little cash get in there to find out. I will be watching Novo, Pacman, Kairos, Degrey, as well as ARV etc on from afar with much interest as this story continues to unfold. Just need them damn Purdy's Comet Well assays to be released. Or are they still hungry for more ground first. Shame if the Canooks get it all. Aussies asleep as usual."
