RE:The potentialI agree, hesitantly. This is yet another demographic play, and also exposed to government policy and regulations regarding funding.
I've been a shareholder for a long time, beginning with the original Patient Home Monitoring. I'm also an owner of numerous companies in a similar vein: Medical Facilities, CRH Medical, Acumin, etc. I was a former owner of Chartwell.
It's almost like being an early investor in China, thinking about the amazing numbers if a reasonable path is followed. But lots can go wrong. A few lawsuits. A change in govt. policy. Crappy mgmt. A short attack. Too much competition. Poor execution.
Remember when PHM bought the original company that is now Viemed? It was golden. But clearer it was trying to mix oil and water. Now they are separate and pursuing their own paths again. It wasted two years of our time and millions in lost opportunity.
Viemed is not the leader in their category, but they may be executing best, from my assessment. Perhaps another buyout/merger is in their future. Or maybe they can gain enough share and take the lead in the marketplace. I have a lot of patience and will definitely be waiting this one to bloom.
