RE:Why ?I believe it has to do with British and French cultures, the different attitudes, but mostly because Quebec is the most dysfunctional province in Canada.
I was born and raised in Montreal, then at age 25 fled to freedom, just like Brian Mulroney's kids did.
Because English Canada has a culture of entrepreneurship, Quebec has a culture of handouts, still.
Because English Canada (British) has a culture of investing, hard work, Quebec has a culture of 'joie de vivre', slacking off, partying, unions, protesting and whining about anything that is not like their tribe.
Just look at the difference between British colonies and French colonies.
The English invest and think long term, " for the greater good of the empire.."
Quebec has 8 million people...and they are a welfare state. The recent provincial debates they held did not discuss Quebec's huge debt, the biggest in Canada. Thank god I fled to freedom. Couldn't handle the language police too.
Aurora had a media day when they opened the Lachine facility last Nov? and one francophone reporter from french CBC asked " do you respect the Quebec people and their language"
