WESTCORE ENERGY ANNOUNCES BOARD APPOINTMENT
Westcore Energy Ltd. has appointed James B. Engdahl to the company's board of directors and has also accepted the resignation of Paul Conroy as a director. Mr. Conroy was an original founder and past president and chief executive officer of Westcore and has served on the board since 2007. The board of directors thanks Mr. Conroy for his years of service and wishes him all the best in his future endeavours.
Andrew Davidson, president and chief executive officer, commented: "We are pleased to be able to welcome Mr. Engdahl's extensive experience, success and business acumen, particularly in the Saskatchewan resource sector, just as Westcore looks to expand the development of its current heavy oil production at the Flaxcombe and Riverside fields."
Mr. Engdahl brings over 30 years of corporate, banking and capital markets experience, holding senior executive positions and/or board positions with several listed junior resource companies, including:
- Star Uranium Corp. -- president, chief executive officer and director (2013 to 2016);
- eCobalt Solutions Inc. -- director (1994 to 2015);
- Great Western Mineral Group -- president, chief executive officer and director (2006 to 2012);
- Great Western Diamonds -- director (2006 to 2009);
- Claude Resources -- vice-president, finance, and director (1986 to 1991);
- Pacific & Western Trust -- president, chief executive officer and director (1986 to 1991).
Mr. Engdahl was directly responsible for raising approximately $150-million and developing of one of the only fully integrated rare earth companies in the world while at the helm of Great Western Mineral Group. As president and general manager at Devco Financial, he was responsible for the procurement of a $10-million venture fund for the Province of Saskatchewan and as managing partner at Cascadia Ventures Inc., financing projects in excess of $100-million over a three-year period.
Mr. Engdahl has also sat on the boards of various trade and economic advisory committees in Saskatchewan, including Enterprise Saskatchewan (mining group committee), an economic advisory group to the government of Saskatchewan; and chair of audit committee of Saskatchewan Trade & Export Partnership, a government-/industry-sponsored non-profit organization developed to aid and assist all exporters within Saskatchewan.
