RE:RE:RE:Republican introduces new bill to end the $7,500 federal taxIn time, as batterys replace gasoline & diesel, the tax credits will need to go away and the electic cars will need to be taxed for road usage in order to have funding for roads.  There is no free lunch.  However, I think that it is too early to make those changes.

Please accept that EVs polute too, just in a different way.  They need energy for their batteries and to get that energy, you still need natural gas and coal.  Wind and solar work in some places, but often they are not efficient enough cost wise or do not produce enough energy to meet the current needs. Likely you need more nuclear power plants, but of they are not popular anymore.  Even if the US bans the use of coal and natural gas for enery aproduction, China will not. In fact they currenlty buy a lot of coal from the US for this purpose.  They need cost effective energy for their growing fleet of EVs and to manufacture most of the goods that we all use on a day to day basis.  As you know, polution is a world issue, not just what is used or produced in our own back yard.  EVs or not, we need clean large scale energy production that is low polution, its just not here yet.
