RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:Republican introduces new bill to end the $7,500 federal taxI also agree what you said.  Energy is a complicated matter without simple answers.  Each approach taken has its positives and negatives.

I do think that what is even more important than EVs, is the use of batteries for grid energy storage.  All of the current energy systems either produce too much or not enough energy compared to the current need.  Energy storage is needed to make these systems efficient.  It is what is needed to make wind, solar and hydro effective.  While EVs get the press, grid energy storage may be more important in the long run.

I do think that the switch to EVs will accelerate at a tremendous pace once the battery factories ramp up and we get to the point where EV batteries are not packs of thousands of what are basically computer laptop baterries. There must be a better and more cost effective way to make EV batteries.  It isn't the raw materials that make batteries so expensive, it is the design.  At least that is what I think.

I just hope that EVs don't get dragged down by the self driving car craze.  EVs should be simplier than petro cars, so lets not add unessary complexities.
