As for this back and forth debate about assessed value, I didn't even comment on that waste of time because it's such a stupid conversation. I've bought and sold 5 properties now in Toronto, and the assessed value is ALWAYS lower. The assessed value is what your municipality uses to base your property taxes on. In a market where prices are fluctuating, and generally going up, municipalities can't use the market value to assess your taxes. The fact that this discussion of assessed value versus selling price is even occurring is just another example of the amount of experience of some people who contribute to this board, and what their opinion's are worth, and that's NOT MUCH.
If you really want to scratch below the surface of these purchases of strata units on Acland Road, and look for "funny business", the real question to ask is who are the vendors of the units? I seem to recall that somebody posted on this board, that in one or two cases (not all), the vendors of the properties were insiders of THC, and/or that THC had been renting units from insiders of the company before selling them to the company. Not a bad way to make money for an insider. You buy a property, and then X months later the company you control buys that same property at a nice mark-up. You just made a profit on a real-estate deal that basically transfers money from the corporation to your pocket that doesn't have to be reported as an insider selling shares. Or you rent the property to the company...
It's this kind of stuff, along with everything else I mentioned, that makes me nervous. But as long as you can make money buying and selling THC shares, who gives a sh!t, right?

Btw Our passpost doesn't have our middle name. There's 6 of us that are going away soon and our travel agent booked all of our air tickets with our middle name. 3 of us had to have our middle name taken off of the ticket because it's not on th passport.
And for property value ....."In summary, an assessed value is a valuation placed on a property by a public taxassessor for purposes of taxation. Fair Market Value, on the other hand, is the agreed upon price between a willing and informed buyer and seller under usual and ordinary circumstance"
Toronto homes like BC MARKET boomed over the last 5 yrs. Say you bought a house for $999,999. In 2017 and your tax assessment came in. The value on that would range from $400,000 to say $600,000 not $999,999.
Btw we should know THC Biomed grow space or what they can produce in a year. This is crazy that we don't.
