The Mexican difference.
The Mexican difference. Thanks Allnrgy, that was an excellent link, to an excellent video.
The video high lights, the basic or root reason for the success of the oil shale phenomenon. At it's heart.............the risk reward system of economics that is still alive in the USA. When companies like Mitchell are willing to try "wild and risky" unheard of techniques (and I would argue desperate), and are left to live or die on the results...........then great things can happen. And did. I would also have included in the video the success of horizontal drilling. It has also contributed in a large way.
Some of the team that Mitchell had, are now with ROE. There are others from other companies as well. THEY DO FORM THE NUCLEUS OF A DREAM TEAM, And as I have stated many times in the past, this team is the very reason I bought ROE. I will say again they are heroes in my opinion. I am in awe of them. They deserve every dollar and accolade they have ever gotten. Period.
They are responsible for a revolution that has fundamentally changed the energy world in a better way.
So then ..............why not ROE?
My assumption..............Mexico. Geographically the ROE lands look extremely promising. No reason that they couldn't be the next Barnett or Bakken.
The major reason is political. Decades of socialist governments, that stifles the individual. Kills off entrepreneurial spirit. Rewards lethargy, and corruption.ie......Pemex.
Can ROE overcome this? At one time I was sure they could. It's the management team I have deep reservations for.
But several years of waiting is wearing me out. It seems they have adopted a timid wait and see strategy. It could be that in the long run it was the only strategy that could have ever worked in this country. If so then great.
The lack of news from this company does not do them any good. The more informed they keep us the more loyalty they would have from me at least.
The video also confirmed a statement I made earlier. These wells do not take that long to drill.
The Fasken Oil and Ranch wells drilled down to 11,500 feet (I assume vertical only) were being knocked out every 8 days. With just a little more time for completion work. Yes these are just repeat production wells. Not exploration wells, which are cored. But this upper Jurassic well going on this long, now many months, is stretching credulity.
But I am holding until I hear results.
My July warrants are looking pretty endangered.
I am very long ROE. GLTA.
