Baytex Energy Corp. is a Canada-based energy company. The Company is engaged in the acquisition, development and production of crude oil and natural gas in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin and in the Eagle Ford in the United States. Its crude oil and natural gas operations are organized into three main operating areas: Light Oil USA (Eagle Ford), Light Oil Canada (Pembina Duvernay / Viking) and Heavy Oil Canada (Peace River / Peavine / Lloydminster). Its Eagle Ford assets are located in the core of the liquids-rich Eagle Ford shale in South Texas. The Eagle Ford shale covers approximately 269,000 gross acres of crude oil operations. Its Viking assets are located in the Dodsland area in southwest Saskatchewan and in the Esther area of southeastern Alberta. It also holds 100% working interest land position in the East Duvernay resource play in central Alberta.

RE:RE:RE:Tax loss selling is hammering BTE.. Down to the 1-2.00 SPI was a BTE investor many many years ago when they were first starting out, lived in Cal and it was a great story with great managment. I got out when oil tumbled, and I've been siting here watching this company/share price, and it's painful to watch this fall from grace even with the oil price recovery. Earlier this year I got into a company called Pulse (PUL)....alberta company, alberta assets, alberta managment team with a great track record. Although BTE has a place in my heart as I did very well with it, the debt will haunt this company for some time to come. Although I firmly believe they will survive, it's going to take some time to turn things around as this is not a growth story anymore, it's a turn around story. I wish everyone all the best with BTE, but there are better oppotunities in terms of investment out there.
