RE:Hip and ACB “We reviewed all disclosed and public information on Newstrike and on CanniMed management’s proposed acquisition, and in our opinion it’s a terrible deal for CanniMed shareholders,” said Terry Booth, CEO of Aurora, in a statement Monday.
“It doesn’t take a genius to see that a company with no revenues, no sales licence, no patients, no intellectual property of significant value … should not be worth giving 35 per cent of CanniMed away to Newstrike shareholders,” he said of the smaller Newstrike.

“Newstrike has no operational or execution track record, and has never sold a gram of product. It is ridiculous for CanniMed management to claim that Newstrike has a ‘premier recreational brand.’” –Aurora Cannabis press release (Dec. 18, 2017) https://www.bnnbloomberg.ca/the-war-of-words-that-came-before-aurora-and-cannimed-s-1-1b-deal-1.977388

Was it because they have enough growing space already, Newstrike had nothing to offer them, or did they not like Jay maybe? Jay comes across as not very intelligent in interviews a lot of the time. Cam from ACB is always excited and is actually fun to listen to. I think we all feel Hip has something here but I can’t get it out of my head to why their stock price is so low compared to its competition. Hope for more positive things next week. Have a good weekend.
