The article you referenced is dated 16 October.

Have a look at the weekly chart for the Dow which covers the very 5-day period Mr. Derrick was voicing concerns about:

Mr. Derrick is just another so-called equity guru - and he got it wrong. 

This is not to say there aren't broader concerns currently (and he does outline them); anybody that has been paying attention to macroeconomics and the geopolitical situation knows all too well it is quite a precarious moment in our history.
