Zeitgeist"Let's assume for a moment that Cisco ultimately wins the law suit. In other words, Cisco effectively has stolen W-OFDM from WIN. We know it will be bad
for WIN but is it really that bad for the industry? Cisco has stated they will "license" this technology on a royalty-free basis. So, an idealist would say that a Cisco victory would be good for the industry since a powerful standard is established for little cost and likely becomes ubiquitous."
So an idealist would say that it is alright for someone to steal something from someone else??
"A skeptic would claim that Cisco does nothing unless there is a payback and will exact a price down the road.
I personally don't think that will happen since, as I've stated previously, this market is regulated and Cisco will have to answer to a higher authority."
I think that Cisco has shown that they believe they are above that higher authority. They have shown this by the way they have dealt with W-ODFM from the start. They have shown nothing but bad faith. Numerous examples that have been pointed out on this and other forums. They could even be working behind the scenes in how this whole affair is presented. "If the papers play up on the Radiate/Cisco connection then this may be the trigger for the continuing downtrend that I'm expecting."
I think others beleive this as well. I believe that statements of Cisco could drag this out for years Big Warchest have nothing to do about whether not they are right but only whether they can afford it. This may or may not be true but don't talk to me about Cisco and idealism.
