This can be a buy signal for me, if I think understand the stock duly. If I am right, I get the extra pay out of their covering. They pay interest while I pay none, which helps ride it out, and they have more to lose. So if you're confident in your long position, it is good to be in a stock with a lot of shorters. It's latent energy.
