RE:RE:MMJ divestingThere is a borrow rate on the stock. Divide that borrow rate/365 and you will get what shorters pay each day to hold the shares shorted. Now any common share can be shorted if it is not put for on the ask at a higher price. It is not technically the banks stocks it is the public stocks that are available to be shorted. 

The banks or brokers make the commision on the trade and take no risk at all.
